Fruit Punch Hydrate Blast

Light and refreshing, this Fruit Punch Hydrate Blast is a great way to replenish lost electrolytes. While the Jocko Fuel Fruit Punch Hydrate is already tasty on its own, adding some frozen fruit and lime juice, then throwing it in a blender creates an easy- to-make, gourmet option for your electrolytes!

If you haven’t already tried Jocko Hydrate, I highly recommend you try it. These are the best good-for-you, ready-to-drink, electrolyte replenishers out there!

Jocko Hydrate includes all the essential electrolytes: (magnesium, potassium, sodium, and chloride). While many other electrolyte drinks contain dyes and artificial sweeteners, Jocko Hydrate does not. Made with clean ingredients, zero sugar, no artificial sweetener, dye, or artificial flavors, this drink has it all and tastes amazing!

We all know electrolytes are important when you are active and sweating a lot, regardless of your diet. However, when eating low-carb, electrolytes are even more important. When switching to the keto diet, you cut out all or a majority of processed foods, lowering your sodium level significantly. Then by cutting back on carbohydrates, the body doesn’t experience blood sugar spikes, resulting in lower insulin levels. When insulin levels are low and stable, the kidneys excrete more sodium, potassium, and water.

These two major changes result in low blood pressure and have caused many people, myself included, to experience the dreaded “keto flu.” Symptoms of the keto flu include dizziness, weakness, fatigue, and nausea. Take it from me – this is absolutely no fun!

After my first bout of keto flu, I swiftly learned the importance of consuming the following recommended amounts of salt, potassium, and magnesium daily to ensure these symptoms stay away:

  • 5,000-7,000 mg of sodium (on top of what you typically get from food)
  • 3,500-4,700 mg of potassium
  • 400-500 mg of magnesium (on top of what you get from food)

By adding electrolytes to daily intake either with drinks like these or by adding electrolytes to my water, I was able to prevent the keto flu and once again feel great!
